What it is
The coenzyme NAD+ formulated for intranasal use. NAD+ is rapidly degraded in plasma, and the nasal route is studied as a way to deliver it towards the central nervous system without that first-pass loss.
Mechanism
NAD+ is the co-substrate for sirtuins, PARP enzymes and CD38, linking energy metabolism to DNA repair and mitochondrial function. Intranasal delivery is investigated for neuroprotection and cognitive research.
Research areas
- Mitochondrial function and cellular energy
- Neurodegeneration models
- Cognitive and fatigue research
- Intranasal delivery of small molecules
Safety and metabolism
Endogenous molecule; solutions are sensitive to heat and light.
