What it is
Epithalon (epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed from epithalamin, a pineal-gland extract studied in Russia since the 1980s. It is one of the best-known peptides in longevity research.
Mechanism
Epithalon has been reported to activate telomerase expression in human somatic cells in vitro, extending telomere length, and to normalise melatonin secretion and circadian rhythm via the pineal gland. Animal studies report antioxidant effects and reduced tumour incidence with lifelong administration.
