What it is
AOD-9604 is a modified form of HGH Fragment 176-191 with an added tyrosine at the N-terminus for stability. It was developed in Australia specifically as an anti-obesity compound and has been through phase 2 clinical trials.
Mechanism
Like the parent fragment, it stimulates lipolysis and inhibits lipogenesis in adipose tissue without GH-receptor activation, IGF-1 elevation or effect on glucose. It has also been studied for cartilage repair in osteoarthritis models.
Research areas
- Fat metabolism and obesity
- Cartilage and joint repair
- Metabolic safety of GH fragments
- Adipose tissue biology
Safety and metabolism
Clinical trials in over 900 participants reported a safety profile comparable to placebo. Short half-life. It holds GRAS status in the US as a food ingredient, an unusual regulatory position for a peptide.
Why this amount
5 mg is the standard research vial.
